Cancellation and payment policy
You cancel 5 or more days before your arrival: we refund everything you have paid.
You cancel less than 5 days before, or you don't show up: there is no refund.
You change your dates: you can, but the changed booking can no longer be cancelled with a refund.
This policy applies to bookings made directly with Sandy Shores: on our website, by WhatsApp or by phone. Bookings made on Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo or other platforms follow that platform's cancellation policy.
How you pay
- If your arrival is 5 or more days away, you choose: pay a deposit of 50% of the total and the rest on the day you arrive, or pay everything at once and arrive with nothing pending.
- If your arrival is less than 5 days away, the booking is confirmed by paying the full stay, because within that period there is no cancellation with a refund.
- The total includes cleaning, taxes and the card payment fee.
- While you pay, your dates are held for 3 hours. If the payment is not made in that time, the dates are released.
Cancelling 5 or more days ahead
If you cancel at least 5 calendar days before your arrival date, we refund everything you have paid, whether the 50% deposit or the full stay, to the same payment method you used. How long it takes to show in your account depends on your bank.
Cancelling less than 5 days ahead
If you cancel less than 5 calendar days before your arrival date, there is no refund of any payment you have made, whether the 50% deposit or the full stay.
Changing your dates
You can ask us to change the dates of your booking, subject to availability and to the rate of the new dates. Once the change is made, the booking can no longer be cancelled with a refund, no matter how far ahead you cancel.
If you don't show up
If you don't arrive and did not cancel, there is no refund of what you have paid. Your dates are fully honored: the unit stays booked in your name for your whole stay and is not resold.
How to cancel or change
Write to us on WhatsApp at +52 55 8897 4699 or by email at joseinzunza@sandyshoresinn.com, with your name and your reference number. Days are counted from the date we receive your message, La Paz time.
Not the same as the security deposit
When you check in at the front desk we ask for a security deposit of $1,200 MXN per stay. That deposit is separate from the payment for your stay and is returned when you leave, according to our house rules.

What we use your data for
Purposes necessary to provide the service:
- Quoting, holding and managing your booking.
- Processing deposits, payments and refunds.
- Sending you confirmations, receipts, reminders and information about your stay.
- Assisting you before, during and after your stay, and registering your arrival.
- Giving you access to your room and looking after the safety of guests, staff and the premises.
- Meeting tax and legal obligations, including invoicing.
Additional purposes, not necessary for the service:
- Asking for your opinion or a review of your stay.
- Sending you Sandy Shores promotions.
If you do not want us to use your data for the additional purposes, write to the email address below. Declining does not affect your booking or the service you receive.
Security cameras
There are video surveillance cameras in the common areas and entrances of the property. There are no cameras inside the rooms. The footage is used only for the safety of guests, staff and the premises, and is only handed over to a competent authority that requires it.
Your ID and your door
The photograph of your ID is stored in our systems, with access restricted to the staff who need it, and is kept for as long as there is a legal obligation to retain it. Your door code stops working when your stay ends.
Who we share your data with
To operate, your data is processed on our behalf by service providers: booking management systems, payment processors, messaging, telephone and email services, electronic locks, security cameras and cloud storage services. They only use it to provide that service to us.
If you booked on a platform such as Airbnb or Booking.com, we exchange with it the data needed for your booking. Other than this, we do not transfer your data to third parties without your consent, except in the cases provided by law, such as a request from a competent authority.
Your rights
At any time you can ask us to access your data, correct it, cancel it or object to its use (known in Mexico as ARCO rights), as well as withdraw your consent or limit the use of your data. Send your request to joseinzunza@sandyshoresinn.com with:
- Your name and a way to reply to you.
- A copy of your official ID, or that of your representative and the document that proves it.
- A clear description of the data and of the right you want to exercise.
We will reply by the same means, within the time limits set by law.
